Lab.Mescalina — Privacy
Last updated: September 20, 2026
Lab.Mescalina (“By Mescalina”) software are creative applications — for image, video and sound — that run entirely on your computer. They collect no personal data, have no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and send nothing to third parties.
This policy applies to all software published by Lab.Mescalina — today Sandin FX, Q5K, PB7, RE7 and SCAN7 — as well as any software released later, whether or not it already appears on this site. They all rest on the same principle: processing happens locally and no personal data is collected. Should a future application ever depart from these rules, it would come with a specific policy stating so clearly.
| Your files (videos, images, sound, projects) | Files you open are read and processed locally. Exported or recorded files are written where you choose. Nothing leaves your computer. |
|---|---|
| Camera and microphone | When an application offers their use, the camera and microphone are activated only after you grant permission in the system and take an explicit action. The feed is never recorded unless you trigger it, and never transmitted. |
| Settings, presets, gestures and mappings | Your settings, presets, gestures and mappings (MIDI, controllers, scripts) are stored in the application's folder on your computer as readable files you can delete at any time. |
The version distributed on the Mac App Store makes no network connection at all. Your purchase from Apple is your licence; payment information is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy and is not shared with us.
The version bought from our website uses a personal licence key. Upon activation, once, the application sends to
our server (lab.mescalina.fr): the licence key, a hashed computer identifier (an irreversible
fingerprint, not the serial number), the platform and the application version. This data is used solely to verify
the licence and limit the number of activated computers. It is kept for the life of the licence, never combined with
other data and never sold or shared. No other connection is made afterwards.
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction or deletion of the data tied to your licence by writing to the address below. Local data is under your sole control: deleting the application and its settings folder removes it.
